ABOUT
Hi, I'm Belinda Lee (people call me Belle!) and I'm a vocalist, musician, performer, composer, tutor and musical director. I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia and I have over 20 years experience in performing and teaching music having started at a very young age. I took to singing early on in my childhood and have been taught by a number of amazing tutors as I was growing up. They helped me nurture my passion for music from a young age and gave me the confidence to take part in a number of concerts, contests and events ranging from local eisteddfods and talent quests, to the Sydney 2000 Olympics when I was 10 years old, featuring in the opening and closing ceremonies choir.
I've now been teaching vocals and piano for 14 years, having run my own business 'Belle Music Studios' in Sydney, Australia. I've also kept myself busy as a session musician for singing and playing piano for various bands, gigs and events. Most notably, I've had the privilege of performing with artists James Morrison, Emma Pask and Barbara Morrison to name a few. In 2015 I composed, recorded and released my debut EP "Arusha" which is available on Spotify and many other online platforms.
I love musical theatre, and I've been active within the Sydney musical theatre scene as a singer, performer, musical director and director in a number of productions. In particular I've taken part in:
Lead Role as Elphaba - Manly Musical Society: Wicked
Director: The Regals Musical Society shows: Catch me if you Can
Musical Director - The Regals Musical Society shows: Mulan Jnr
Musical Director - The Regals Musical Society shows: Alice in Wonderland Jnr
Musical Director - Shire Musical Theatres: Gypsy
Musical Director - Shire Musical Theatre: Bonnie and Clyde
Deputy-Musical Director - Musical of Thrones for the Sydney and Adelaide Fringe festivals two years running (2016 and 2017)
Deputy-Musical Director - Bankstown theatre Company: Oliver the Musical
I've also studied music at a number of different levels, My qualifications include:
- Double Degree in Bachelor of Arts (Majoring in Music) and Master of Nursing at University of Sydney
- 1 year (part-time) Foundation Course in Musical Theatre with the International College of Music Theatre in London
- Professional Performers Diploma and Associate Diploma in Modern Singing
- Graduate of the Talent Development Project and featured artist in Schools Spectacular in NSW for 4 years.
Currently I'm living in the UK to travel Europe but whilst I'm here I'm also performing across England and working as a Nurse within the NHS. I'm available as a session musician, tutor, performer and musical director/director in the South East area of England, currently based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
